Invitation to the Study Day on May 6, 2019
In February 2019, the AFSP published a report titled “What Kind of Internationalization for French Political Science?” The result of several months of research and discussions with the association’s institutional partners, this summary report—prepared by a working group formed within the AFSP—aimed to clarify the terms of the debate, provide relevant information, and, above all, propose several courses of action to enhance this internationalization.
To build on this report, an initial workshop will be held on Monday, May 6, 2019, at Paris II Panthéon-Assas University.
Three workshops and a panel discussion, featuring numerous speakers, will cover all of the topics:
- Workshop 1: Moving Abroad During Your Career
What opportunities for movingabroad are available at the start of or during your career? How can you prepare for it? How can you make the most of an overseas assignment during your career? How do you return? Political scientists will share their experiences (dissertations abroad, IUE, positions abroad). - Workshop 2: Publishing in English-language or bilingual journals
How can you publish internationally? What kind of publication strategy should you adopt? What formatting guidelines should you follow? Presentation by members of editorial boards of English-language and bilingualjournals. - Workshop 3: Funding and Conducting International Research
What funding opportunities are available at the internationallevel? What national funding sources are available for conducting international research? How do you apply? How do you put together a team? How do you prepare your application? - Roundtable: Internationalization and Careers
How are institutions and governing bodies addressing the challenge of internationalization? What role does it play in recruitment? What institutional initiatives are in place to support this internationalization?
