CEPEL, the Center for Political and Social Studies, is a joint research unit (UMR 5112) in Political Science and Sociology affiliated with the University of Montpellier and the CNRS. CEPEL’s evolution aligns with the scientific strategies of its sponsoring institutions and, even before obtaining the I-SITE MUSE designation coordinated by the University of Montpellier, has focused on themes specific to the Montpellier site (health and environment) while maintaining its historical expertise in the fields of public policy and comparative studies.
