Laurent BORZILLO, winner of the thesis award: “Defense & Aerospace” Chair

In addition to its own research activities, the“Defense & Aerospace” Chairis committed to supporting the work of young researchers whose research is recognized as being of interest to the defense sector.

With this in mind, the chair reinstated a dissertation award in 2021 to recognize dissertation work addressing security and defense issues of national or European interest.

On October 13, Laurent BORZILLO received an award for his dissertation titled: “Bi- and Multinational Expeditionary Forces in Europe: A Comparative Analysis of French and German Alliance Policies (1991–2016).”

A member of CEPEL (CNRS – University of Montpellier) and the Strategic Analysis Network, Laurent Borzillo is also an associate researcher atthe CCÉAE at the University of Montreal.

His dissertation was completed at the ED461 Doctoral School of Law and Political Science at the University of Montpellier, in a joint supervision arrangement with the Department of Political Science at the University of Montreal in Canada, under the supervision of Jean JOANA, his dissertation advisor, and Frédéric MÉRAND, his co-advisor.
