"Professionalization and Social Impact of European Political Science" is an international research project in political science, funded under the European COST program, coordinated by the Scuola Normale Superiore (Italy), and involving CEPEL, represented by Christophe Roux and Marc Smyrl. Launched in the fall of 2016, the project aims to build a broad network of researchers in the field of political science as a discipline, focusing on four key questions: the transformation of the political science academic community; the internationalization of the discipline’s actors and knowledge; the impact on the media and social visibility of political scientists; and the degree of influence political scientists have on public decision-making. Christophe Roux coordinates the French team and serves as co-director and member of the first of the four working groups on the state of the discipline and its institutionalization (WG1); Marc Smyrl is a member of the working group on the internationalization of career paths (WG2). Both are members of the project’s steering committee.
