Professionalization and Social Impact of European Political Science) is an international political science research project funded under the European COST program, coordinated by the Scuola Normale Superiore (Italy) and involving CEPEL, represented by Christophe Roux and Marc Smyrl. Launched in the fall of 2016, the project aims to build a vast network of researchers around the field of political science as a discipline, focusing on four key questions: the transformation of the academic community of political science; the internationalization of the discipline and its knowledge; the impact on the media and social visibility of political scientists; and the degree of influence of political scientists on public decision-making. Christophe Roux coordinates the French team and is co-director and member of the first of four working groups on the state of the discipline and its institutionalization (WG1); Marc Smyrl is a member of the working group on the internationalization of career paths (WG2). Both are members of the project management committee.
