Fourth edition of the Innovatives SHS trade show

The CNRS Institute for Humanities and Social Sciences is organizing the fourth edition of theInnovatives SHS fair—a fair dedicated to the promotion of the humanities and social sciences—on May 15 and 16 at Lille Grand Palais.

This trade show highlights the ability of humanities and social sciences research laboratories to meet society’s expectations and to facilitate the transfer of their research findings to local governments, nonprofit organizations, major industrial groups, and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

At some 40 booths, researchers and engineers will present software and multimedia tools, applications, serious games, and innovations of all kinds—particularly in the fields of health, urban planning, heritage preservation, and education. With new themes added each year, this year’s fair will place a strong emphasis on digital technology.

Once again, Innovatives SHSwill foster dialogue between exhibitors and the public through“Innov’actions,” interactive discussions modeled after“speed dating.” These sessions will cover topics ranging from heritage and health to learning and avatar-human interactions, primarily through the medium of games. The 2019 edition will also feature two“focus” sessions—one on “smart and connected cities” and the other on “citizen science”—which will bring together researchers, engineers, entrepreneurs, and representatives from local governments and organizations.
