Publication: Faire label. Cultural Meeting Centers

Created in 1972 by the Ministry of Culture, the Cultural Meeting Center remains relatively unknown on the national scene, despite having twenty-three locations, not to mention its international network.

Based on research conducted by Julien Audemard, Aurélien Djakouane, and Emmanuel Négrier to learn more about this label, this book sheds light on an interesting diversity of places and projects, ranging from artistic to heritage and cultural.

The uniqueness of this label lies in the fact that it is the only one at the crossroads of the fields of creation, heritage, and cultural industries. Its extreme diversity of projects embodies a notable artistic and cultural ambition.

The authors rightly point out one of the paradoxes of the CCR label: creating a network based on the very strong artistic, cultural, and territorial singularity of each project.

The label deserved to be questioned about its history, its internal consistency, but also about the support it receives in terms of partnerships.

The research and the resulting book aim to foreshadow a permanent observatory of cultural encounter centers, focusing on three dimensions: organizational, sociological, and political.
