Study of Return Migration Patterns Between Europe and Africa: The Case of Côte d’Ivoire, University of Perpignan via Domitia.
This study examines the issue of return migration between Europe and Africa. The public’s focus on immigration into Europe means that we often overlook the migrants who are making the reverse journey. While this return migration is receiving a great deal of attention these days, studies dedicated to this topic are beginning to emerge worldwide—and particularly in Africa—though they tend to focus on those who return voluntarily rather than those who are forced to leave. This research will focus specifically on this group of migrants who return but not under the same conditions as those who left initially. The overall objective of this study is to contribute to a better understanding of the return conditions established for the reception, reintegration, and resettlement of returning migrants in Sub-Saharan Africa, using the example of Côte d’Ivoire.
