Thesis proposal
Abstract:The aim of this dissertation research was to contribute to an understanding of the transformation of the French education system and the state by examining the specific characteristics of the regions in which it operates and the differential treatment of populations within it. Specifically, the study focused on a single department to examine the issues revealed by a “diversity” initiative launched at the city level in 2016. The study was conducted among various local authorities and groups of stakeholders involved in the school redistricting process, whose stated objective is to “increase diversity.”Ultimately, the dynamics shaping the region are rooted in patterns of categorization and the spatial treatment of populations.
