Occitanie Science Day 2019
The 2019 Occitanie Science Day, organized by Météo et Climat Toulouse-Occitanie, follows the publication a year ago of the IPCC report on the impacts of limiting global warming to 1.5°C. Over 240 participants (Laura MICHEL forCEPEL/CNRS)
The event focuses on translating this objective to the regional level, with an emphasis on the Occitanie region. The main questions addressed and broken down at the regional level are as follows: How can limiting warming to 1.5°C be translated into planning for agricultural, energy, and ecological transitions? How can coherence be ensured among sectoral policies for mitigating greenhouse gas emissions? How can the scientific findings from the IPCC report be disseminated and their integration by stakeholders facilitated?
