Documentary: Festival: When My Village Resists
On Thursday, May 14, 2020, France 3 aired Tom Graffin’s documentary, in which Emmanuel Négrier participated. Titled *Festival: When My Village Resists*, it chronicles the challenges faced by the community-run music festival *Papillons de Nuit* (P2N) in Saint-Laurent-de-Cuves (Manche). Over the course of three days, this village of 480 residents welcomes 75,000 festivalgoers. A miracle. The documentary is intended as a tribute to villages, volunteerism, and the community-based model. But it also serves as a wake-up call, as many events of this kind are fragile and threatened with extinction. For many this year, the coronavirus could be the final blow.
