Session 3 of the seminar “Current Trends in Social Science Research”

The third session ofthe CEPEL laboratory’s seminar series “Current Trends in Social Science Research”will take place on Friday,June 18, 2021, at 9:00 a.m.

We will be welcomingresearcherÉmilie Biland Curinier,a professor of sociology atthe Center for the Sociology of Organizations (CSO)at Sciences Po. Sheis also an associate professor in the Department of Political Science atLaval Universityin Quebec and a member ofthe Institut Universitaire de France.

Shewill present her book*Governing Private Life: The Unequal Regulation of Marital Separations in France and Quebec*, published in 2020.

She is interested in the mechanisms that shape individuals’ lives—both in their private lives (through parental roles) and in their professional lives (in public service). She also studies how LGBT parents relate to the law and the justice system in France, Canada, and Chile, while continuing her research on regional inequalities in family justice and on the institutional experiences of separated parents.
