Session 3 of the seminar "Current Research in Social Sciences"
The third session ofthe CEPEL laboratory's seminar series "Current Research in Social Sciences"will take place on Friday,June 18, 2021, at 9:00 a.m.
We will welcomeresearcherÉmilie Biland Curinier,professor of sociology atSciences Po'sCenter for the Sociology of Organizations (CSO). Sheis also an associate professor in the political science department atLaval Universityin Quebec and a member ofthe Institut Universitaire de France.
Shewill present her bookGoverning Private Life: The Unequal Regulation of Marital Separations in France and Quebec, published in 2020.
She is interested in the mechanisms that frame individuals in their private lives (through parental roles) and in their professional lives (in public employment). She also works on the relationship between LGBT parents and the law and justice system in France, Canada, and Chile, while continuing her research on regional inequalities in family justice and the institutional experiences of separated parents.
