Montpellier Oral Health: mOralHealth and Vulnerability

Project summary:

As part of the Montpellier Oral Health program, we aim to work on improving the oral health of people living in precarious and extremely precarious circumstances. Since Montpellier Oral Health is the first implementation of the WHO’s mOralHealth program, the WHO is very interested in the evaluations we can conduct regarding the implementation of their program. The target population is the one that most closely resembles the groups the WHO aims to reach worldwide through the mOralHealth program. We will collaborate with the National Office for Immigration and Integration (OFII), the ADAGES association, a shelter for homeless individuals, and the City of Montpellier’s social services department. Together, we will roll out oral health prevention campaigns for these groups, using SMS messages as well as videos tailored to these specific audiences to improve their oral health literacy. Additionally, we will train oral health professionals. Finally, we will set up tele-dental consultations in the facilities that serve these populations to identify their care needs and refer them to appropriate dental practices or facilities. We aim to evaluate the impact of these various initiatives on the target population.
