CEPEL activities during its term of office

The task was an exciting one: to bring into harmony a constellation of talents from political science, sociology, ethnology and law. The choice I made, with the support of the community, was to materialize the broader horizon that was now open to all, in terms of both theoretical ambition and the breadth of empirical territories, opening wide the doors to Catalonia, for example. The symbol of this approach was the transformation of the former "Centre comparatif d'études des politiques publiques et des espaces locaux" into the Centre d'Études Politiques de l'Europe Latine. The twofold challenge was, and still is, to avoid neglecting any aspect of politics and to take into account the strong specificities of countries with a Roman tradition.
