Biography

Graduate of Sciences-Po Paris, Diplôme d'études supérieures de Droit public (Paris Panthéon-Sorbonne), Doctor de 3ecyclein urban geography (EHESS), Doctor d'Etat in political science (University of Montpellier)Chargé de mission at DATAR (1969-71); Director of the Mission de la Recherche Urbaine at the Ministry of Urban Planning (1982-86); CNRS Research Director at Cepel, University of Montpellier I (1992-2000); appointed member of the Comité National de la Recherche Scientifique; University Professor at the IEP in Aix-en-Provence (2001-2016).

Academic appointments: Director of Cepel (1995-99); member of the jury for the Agrégation in political science (1999-2000); member of the jury for the IUF (2001); Director of Research and Doctoral Training at the IEP in Aix-en-Provence (2004-2007); Scientific Delegate to the AERES, (in charge of political science and sociology) 2007-2010. Chairman of the Scientific Council of the GIS "Réseau national des MSH" since 2016.
